FUJIFILM North America Corporation Announces Macro Tubes and Launch Timing for New Firmware Updates
Nov 20 14
FUJIFILM North America Corporation announced two new Macro Extension Tubes for the line of X-Series interchangeable lens cameras; plus a launch date for a major firmware update and PC Tethered Shooting Software HS-V5 for the FUJIFILM X-T1 Graphite Silver and X-T1 Black cameras. New firmware updates that deliver additional features and enhanced controls will also be available for the FUJIFILM X-E2, X-E1, X-Pro1and X30. The two new Macro Extension Tubes, the MCEX-11 and the MCEX-16 (for extended close-up work), are intermediate rings for close-up photography. By attaching the ring between a FUJINON XF or XC lens and a camera body, users can enjoy high-magnification photography. When the Macro Extension Tube is attached, the focus range is limited so users can find a focus point by moving the camera forward and backward. The Macro Extension Tubes are equipped with electronic contacts, retaining normal AE, (Auto Exposure) functions and are designed to seamlessly blend into the original look and feel of the X-Series line of compact system cameras. FUJIFILM Macro Extension Tubes will be available in mid-December 2014 for USD 99.95\ CAD 109.99 each. A new PC Tethered Shooting Software HS-V5 for Windows® Ver. 1.0 will feature two modes, Camera Mode and PC Mode, giving photographers enhanced shooting controls. Within the PC Tethered Shooting Software, Camera Mode allows users to operate the camera and adjust its settings on the camera itself, with images taken simultaneously transferred to computer for display on the screen or saving on a PC. Adjusting exposure and other shooting settings, along with activating the shutter release, are carried out on camera. Alternatively, users can switch to PC Mode where they can check the viewfinder image of a remotely-setup camera, operate the camera and adjust its settings on a PC screen, with images taken simultaneously transferred to a PC for display on the screen or saving onto a PC. Adjusting exposure and other shooting settings, or activating the shutter release, are carried out remotely on the computer. PC Tethered Shooting Software HS-V5 also includes the Hyper-Utlity3 image browser for easy image viewing, analysis, assessment, categorization and organization. It features an image analysis function using the histogram, highlight clipping warning and EXIF data (including Film Simulations, exchangeable LENS name, and more) and displays an “image assessment” function that shows two images side-by-side for comparison.
FUJIFILM North America Corporation Announces Expanded Feature Set for IS-mini
Jan 31 14
FUJIFILM North America Corporation’s Imaging Division announced the release of an expanded feature set for its popular IS-mini LUT box. Digital imaging technicians and cinematographers will now have the ability to use the IS-mini with Pomfort’s professional look and color management solution LiveGrade PRO for the film set. Combining the Fujifilm IS-mini’s rugged build and much-praised color rendering abilities with Pomfort’s well-designed and popular software application LiveGrade PRO, DITs and cinematographers will now be able to achieve full control of live HD-SDI signals from digital cameras in a highly precise yet affordable package. Because the IS-mini works with 10-bit color cubes of 26x26x26 in size, users are ensured of highly accurate viewing with far less banding and color artifacts than previously possible. The Fujifilm IS-mini has an MSRP of $1,300, and Pomfort LiveGrade Pro is priced at $979. The newly enhanced versions will be available in end of January 2014.
FUJIFILM North America Corporation Announces the New FUJIFILM XQ1
Oct 18 13
FUJIFILM North America Corporation announced the new FUJIFILM XQ1, a premium pocket-sized digital camera with a bright FUJINON F1.8 4x zoom lens, an advanced 12 Megapixel 2/3" X-Trans CMOS II sensor with phase detection, and the EXR Processor II that delivers the world's fastest autofocus speed in its category of up to 0.06 seconds. X-Series image quality and advanced focusing: The FUJIFILM XQ1 uses the 12 Megapixel 2/3" X-Trans CMOS II sensor that is designed to control moiré and false color generation by using an original color filter array with a highly randomized pixel arrangement. This technology removes the need for an Optical Low Pass Filter (OLPF) that degrades resolution. The image quality in the XQ1 is further enhanced by using a Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO) for stunningly sharp pictures, as well as a 3.0 stop Optical Image Stabilization for shooting in low light situations. The newly developed FUJINON F1.8 4x zoom is constructed with 4 aspherical and 3 extra low dispersion lenses and each lens surface is coated with HT-EBC to reduce flare and ghosting. The XQ1 also has a wide sensitivity range from ISO100 to ISO12800 so user can take realistic and vibrant images even in low light. The EXR Processor II in the new XQ1 more than doubles the processing speed of the previous generation, and it easily captures the information taken from over 100,000 phase detection pixels incorporated in the X-Trans CMOS II to deliver astonishing images. Superb shooting speed and premium compact design: The XQ1 boasts that world's fastest AF of 0.06 seconds, a shooting interval of just 0.3 seconds between shots, and a shutter lag of 0.015 seconds to capture even the most fleeting and memorable moments. Easy Image Transfer with WiFi® button: The FUJIFILM XQ1 includes a WiFi button that lets users transfer high quality photos and movies to smartphones, tablets and computers for easy sharing on social media sites. FUJIFILM XQ1 key features list: 12 Megapixels 2/3" X-Trans CMOS II Sensor; EXR Processor II; Start-up time of 1.0; Shutter lag time of 0.015; Shooting interval time of 0.3; AF speed 0.06 seconds; F1.8-F4.9 4x optical zoom equivalent to 25-100mm in 35mm format; 4x Intelligent Digital Zoom (16X combined with optical zoom); Lens Modulation Optimizer for improved image quality; 3" (920,000 dot) premium clear LCD (High contrast, High Brightness and Wide viewing angle); Built-in Super Intelligent pop-up Flash; ISO100 - 12800; Full HD Movie; In-camera RAW converter; Film simulation modes (Velvia, ASTIA, PROVIA, Sepia and Monochrome); Artistic features: Toy Camera, Miniature, Dynamic Tone, Pop Color, Soft Focus, High Key, Low; Key, and Partial Color Selection of Bracketing functions.
