Yamana Gold, Inc. announced that Barry Murphy has joined the company's senior management as Senior Vice President, Technical Services, effective September 3, 2014. In his new role, Mr. Murphy will be responsible for all project development and construction, and help develop the company’s strategy for optimizations, expansions and corporate development. Mr. Murphy has over 25 years of diverse mining and mineral processing experience in Africa and South America. Mr. Murphy most recently held the position of Vice President Projects, Copper Division at Anglo American Corporation. After joining Anglo American in 1987 as a junior engineer, Mr. Murphy progressed through increasingly senior positions across various divisions in numerous operational and technical capacities on both open pit and underground mines throughout the organization. From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Murphy held management positions at engineering and construction services firms Hatch and Murray & Roberts Cementation Limited before returning to Anglo American.

Yamana Gold, Inc. priced an offering of $500 million aggregate principal amount of its 4.95% Senior Notes due July 15, 2024. The notes will be unsecured, senior obligations of Yamana and will be unconditionally guaranteed by certain of Yamana's subsidiaries that are also guarantors under Yamana's unsecured senior credit facility. The offering is expected to close on June 30, 2014. Yamana intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to repay in full its $500 million unsecured senior term loan due June 2016.
Yamana Gold Seeks To Sell Mines In Brazil

Yamana Gold, Inc. (TSX:YRI) has been trying to sell mines in Brazil for months, people familiar with the matter say, the Globe and Mail reports. Yamana Gold put its three mines in Brazil up for sale at the beginning of the year and hired Royal Bank of Canada to run the process, it cites a source as saying. A spokesman for Yamana reportedly declined to comment.
