Aetna and Bon Secours Health System Collaborate to Achieve Triple Aims for Medicare Beneficiaries

Aetna and Bon Secours Health System announced a new accountable care agreement that will support 57,000 fee-for-service Medicare beneficiaries in Kentucky, New York, South Carolina and Virginia. Bon Secours will use technology and care coordination services from Aetna subsidiary Healthagen to help coordinate health care for Medicare beneficiaries whose primary physician participates in the Good Help ACO. The agreement is designed to improve the quality of care for Medicare beneficiaries under the Medicare Shared Savings Program while lowering overall health care costs. In addition, Aetna will begin administering Bon Secours' employee medical benefits plan beginning September 1, 2013.

Quantros Partners with Bon Secours Health System Center for Clinical Excellence and Innovation for Emergency Department Performance Advising

Quantros, Inc. announced its first Performance Improvement Advising partnership with Bon Secours Health System Center for Clinical Excellence and Innovation (BSHSI). Quantros performance improvement advisors and industry experts will support BSHSI for a comprehensive Emergency Department (ED) Performance Excellence effort targeted at improving quality, safety, and experience of care. Quantros is partnering with BSHSI to provide culture, process, and performance change management expertise to assist BSHSI in building an interdisciplinary clinical leadership program promoting a culture of safety within the ED. BSHSI currently uses Quantros Safety and Risk Management(TM) (SRM) software to capture real-time performance data for investigation, monitoring and reporting safety events and workflow management. The ED performance improvement effort leverages BSHSI's existing technology infrastructure to improve such areas as provider-to-provider communication, promote the use of evidence-based care, enhance patient engagement, and reduce the risk of harm. Quantros advisors are working closely with BSHSI to assess and improve culture, process, and performance characteristics of the ED targeting areas such as the triage process, department handoffs, communication, and patient flow. Collaboration throughout the ED system and comprehensive support for the learning community drives BSHSI into a sustainable learning environment that fosters team-based care grounded in clinical excellence. This move aligns with the goal of consistently delivering the high quality and safety across the entire BSHSI system.

Bon Secours Health System Renews Relationship with MedAssets, Inc

MedAssets announced that Bon Secours Health System, Inc. has elected to renew its relationship with the company to drive continued financial performance improvement. The agreement builds upon the health system's 2012 success in utilizing MedAssets Revenue Cycle Technology and consulting services to realize more than $25 million in increased net revenue through automation, streamlined processes and better control over operating margins in day-to-day operations.
