O2 Arena is not up for sale. Earlier, it was reported that O2 has been put up for sale. Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (AEG), who operate the entertainment venue denied the sale rumors. Lend Lease Corp. Ltd. and Quintain Estates and Development plc might be looking to sell their interest for around £35million. Stephanie Jones, AEG’s spokeswoman said, “The sale is simply Lend Lease and Quintain seeking to raise cash by selling our rental payments. The O2 arena business, which was funded by AEG, is absolutely not for sale.” She added, “We have had an incredible first 18 months in business, setting worldwide entertainment records, and are confident 2009 will be even better. We are already booking shows well into 2010.”

National Basketball Association (NBA) and Anschutz Entertainment Group Inc. (AEG), both of the US, announced that they will form a joint venture to develop and operate NBA-style arenas across China. The first two new arenas will open in Shanghai and Guangzhou in time for the 2010 World Expo and 2010 Asian Games respectively. The two companies already have a joint venture established to manage the Wukesong Culture and Sports Centre, the basketball venue of the Beijing Olympics. AEG manages more than 90 arenas around the world, including the O2 arena in London, O2 World arena in Berlin and the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

AVP Inc. has announced that as part of its expansion strategy into new markets, it has partnered with Anschutz Entertainment Group Inc. to launch the AVP Crocs Hot Winter Nights Indoor Beach Volleyball Tour and to assist in promotion of four of their marquee events in Southern California, including the AVP Manhattan Beach Open.
