Flexity Solutions Chooses Atlantis Computing(R) to Deliver High Performance and Lower Cost Desktop Virtualization

FlexITy Solutions and Atlantis Computing(R) announced a partnership that offers solutions to simplify desktop and application management while increasing performance, security and control. "Integrating Atlantis ILIO(TM) into storage intensive virtual desktop or application infrastructures in private and public clouds optimizes the use of data centre storage, automates large-scale deployments and lowers implementation risks for the clients. The partnership will bring solutions that deliver virtual infrastructures at reduced CAPEX and OPEX with increased performance and enhanced end user experience. With traditional SAN/NAS storage and thin client devices, clients cannot achieve the same level of performance as a PC without spending $1,000-$2,000 per user. Standard thin client acquisition and management costs drive up the total cost of ownership further to put virtual desktops out of the reach of most organizations.

Atlantis Computing Releases Atlantis USX 2.0

Atlantis Computing announced the release of Atlantis USX 2.0, a software-defined storage platform that delivers all-flash performance at half the cost of SAN. The new release powers the first all-flash hyper-converged storage system, adds a groundbreaking new technology that allows enterprises to Teleport virtual machines between datacentres and the cloud in seconds, and offers VMware VVOL support for any storage system. The First All-Flash Hyper-Converged Storage System Atlantis and the hardware partners are teaming up to deliver the industrys first all-flash hyper-converged storage system featuring cutting edge Flash DIMM memory-channel storage, PCIe Flash, DRAM and optional SAS storage for capacity expansion. Atlantis USX pools local server flash and applies Atlantis HyperDup data services, including real-time deduplication and compression to increase effective storage capacity by up to 10 times. With an entry-level, three-server configuration, enterprises can process more than two million OLTP database transactions per minute, deliver up to one million real-world IOPS (80% write, 80% random 4KB blocks) and support four hundred persistent power-user virtual desktops. Atlantis Teleport Unprecedented Data Mobility Teleport, a new capability in the Atlantis USX 2.0 platform, dramatically improves business agility by enabling virtualisation administrators to move or migrate VMs between storage systems, datacentres and the cloud in seconds compared to hours with traditional Storage vMotion. With Teleport, the speed of data mobility makes it possible to instantly migrate VMs between storage systems, dynamically expand and contract datacentres on a daily basis to save power, and quickly move test and development environments across continents to go into production.
