Crowell & Moring LLP announced that Teresa (Terry) Stanek Rea, former acting and deputy director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and acting and deputy under secretary of commerce for intellectual property, has returned to Crowell & Moring as a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property Group. At Crowell & Moring, Rea will focus her practice on U.S. and international IP disputes and policy issues, complex patent litigation and inter partes administrative proceedings, trade secrets protection and enforcement, IP infringement and validity opinions, IP licensing, counseling, and patent portfolio development, management, and monetization. Rea will continue to work with clients in many industries, including pharmaceuticals, life sciences, biotechnology, chemicals, medical devices, publishing, healthcare, and others. Rea will advise clients on privacy, piracy, trademarks, issues related to global top level domains (gTLDs), and trade secrets matters.

Crowell & Moring LLP announced appointment of Evan D. Wolff as a partner to the firm's Government Contracts Group in Washington, D.C. Most recently, Wolff served as director of the Homeland Security Practice at Hunton & Williams LLP. Prior to that, he served as an advisor to the senior leadership at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other U.S. government agencies. Wolff's practice is focused on three primary areas: homeland security regulatory counseling; security risk management and consulting; and cybersecurity compliance and investigation. Wolff has also joined The Chertoff Group as a managing director, a non-legal role, where he provides clients strategic advice on security risk management, threat detection technology, analytics, cybersecurity, and privacy. Wolff is highly active with several leadership roles within the security/cybersecurity community.

Saltzman, who have joined the firm's Corporate Finance & Securities Practice and Commercial Real Estate Practice, respectively. Dalfen has a broad corporate practice, including significant M&A and securities experience, with a particular focus on representing companies in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, as well as issuers and investors in securities offerings and financings. Saltzman has considerable experience negotiating commercial leases nationwide on behalf of tenants, including retail leases, warehouses, showrooms, galleries, and office spaces for clients in the luxury, fashion, retail, healthcare, banking, and other industries.
