McGraw-Hill Education, Inc. Launches New Version of Everyday Mathematics Program 4(R)
Sep 3 14
McGraw-Hill Education announced the launch of Everyday Mathematics 4(R), the first alternative core program that can be fully implemented digitally. Developed by the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project in partnership with McGraw-Hill Education, Everyday Mathematics 4 continues to transform math education through its research-proven approach that adds innovative digital learning tools to foster students' lifelong mathematical success. The new version of Everyday Mathematics, engineered for new education standards designed to promote college and career readiness, is available for Grades K-2 now and will be available for Grades 3-6 beginning in Fall 2015. McGraw-Hill Education's Everyday Mathematics 4 at a glance: Everyday Mathematics 4 is grounded in extensive research into how children learn and the approaches that engage them most effectively in the classroom. Among the approaches on which the program is most closely based is "distributed practice," a technique that involves repeated exposures to key ideas in different contexts over time. The program's signature spiral curriculum uses distributed practice to help students build depth of knowledge and achieve long-term mastery of concepts and skills. McGraw-Hill Education's new ConnectED Teacher Center includes a powerful, new digital evaluation tool that allows teachers to easily track student performance and record their observations on actual learning moments in the classroom, all of which provides data that is automatically compiled into customizable reports helping teachers more precisely track progress toward mastery and plan for differentiation.

McGraw-Hill Education Professional's AccessMedicine App Delivers Instant Access to Essential Diagnostic Tools
Jul 29 14
McGraw-Hill Education Professional announced the launch of the AccessMedicine App, the first off-line mobile application of the world-renowned medical education platform. A key feature of the new AccessMedicine App, available for download onto all iOS and Android devices, is that users will now be able to gain access to valuable AccessMedicine diagnostic resources in an off-line environment. Because AccessMedicine users -- doctors, residents, medical students, nurses -- typically work in environments such as wards and ER's, where internet service is frequently unavailable, the AccessMedicine App provides access to essential point-of-care diagnostic tools and resources. These include: Quick Medical Dx & Rx -- Providing concise evidence-based outlines of conditions and disorders most often encountered in medical practice, the Quick Medical Dx & Rx Tool is derived from the annual guide to internal medicine. Perfect for high-yield review or for quick reference in the clinical setting. Visual Diagnostic Tool for Dermatology -- This tool facilitates visual diagnosis by providing color images of skin lesions, plus a summary outline of skin disorders and diseases derived from the visual atlas of dermatology, Fitzpatrick's Color Atlas of Clinical Dermatology. Differential Diagnosis Tool -- With more than 1,000 diagnoses found on the acclaimed Diagnosaurus(R) app, this unique tool efficiently allows users to browse by symptom, disease, or organ system at the point of care. Diagnostic Tests -- Powered by Pocket Guide to Diagnostic Tests, this tool is a quick reference to the selection and interpretation of commonly used diagnostic tests including laboratory procedures in the clinical setting. The AccessMedicine platforms are accessible on any device through the recently launched responsive design on the new SCM6 platform. But with the AccessMedicine App, users can tap into the most relevant point of care tools in any environment. The AccessMedicine App can be downloaded from iTunes for Apple iPhones and iPads and from Google Play for Android devices. The AccessMedicine App is available exclusively to institutional subscribers to the AccessMedicine platform. Once downloaded, AccessMedicine subscribers simply use their My Access accounts to activate the app.
