Indonesia Planning To Sell Palyja Stake

Indonesia is planning to sell stake in PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya (Palyja). Jakarta government is in discussions with the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) and the Coalition of Communities against Jakarta Water Privatization (KMMSAJ) related to the proposed acquisition of Palyja. Joko Widod, Jakarta’s Governor said it is still under negotiation with the relevant KMMSAJ lawsuit against the city government. However, the coalition has agreed a deal with the provincial government. On April 4, 2014, He said, “Essentially, we've both met and agreed that Palyja should immediately be taken over. The goal is the same order, water management was taken over by the government in this regard through provincial enterprises, PT Jakarta Propertindo (PT Jakpro) and PT Pembangunan Jaya.”

Pembangunan Jaya In Talks To Acquire 51% Stake In PAM Lyonnaise From Suez Environment

PT Pembangunan Jaya is planning to take-over 51% stake in PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya from Suez Environnement Company SA (ENXTPA:SEV). Winarto, Director of Pembangunan Jaya, "We are owned by the city administration. Once the city assigns and appoints us, as professionals, we have to be ready." Winarto said that a negotiation process was ongoing. Winarto added, "We are planning to expand, as it has proven to be working well. We managed to reduce water leakage in Ancol to less than 5%. We have learned from Singapore, which uses technology to manage water from various sources, including conventional sources like rivers, recycled water and rain water. We should explore all sources. But Jakarta also has a huge water source: the sea. We can manage it."
