National Express West Midlands Renews Managed Service Contract with Arqiva
Mar 11 14
National Express West Midlands renewed its managed service contract with Arqiva. This provides NX West Midlands with the additional capability to monitor real-time communications across its fleet of over 1,500 buses, providing improved security and safety for bus drivers and a more efficient service for local residents. The contract refresh will move the NX West Midlands bus fleet onto a new Ofcom spectrum frequency that will provide far greater call capacity across the system, enabling faster response times. Arqiva will also provide new features to enable NX West Midlands to monitor and quickly access voice recordings between its centralised dispatchers and drivers. In addition the new real time reporting tools will allow NX West Midlands to analyse and identify problems much quicker.

Arqiva Reportedly Looks Options For Mobile Towers
Jan 20 14
Arqiva Limited reportedly looks options for mobile towers. A visit to Australia by Arqiva Chief Executive John Cresswell has sparked speculation a local telecommunications operator might be pondering strategic options for its mobile towers. One option would be a deal with a SingTel Optus Pty Ltd. and Vodafone Australia Pty Ltd. Both own mobile phone towers - indeed they have share infrastructure in some areas - which are valued by investors looking for defensive assets with regular cash flows. Selling towers to another provider would release cash, which in the case of Vodafone would not be such a bad thing. Telstra Corporation Limited (ASX:TLS) owns a large number of towers but is unlikely to be interested. However, both Optus and Vodafone say they are not interested in exploring a deal for the time being.
