Western Marine Shipyard Limited Inks Deal to Build 2 Container Ships

Western Marine Shipyard Limited announced that it has signed an agreement for building two container ships for two local enterprises Neepa Paribahan Ltd. and Mir & Islam Enterprise. Each ship with the capacity of carrying 160 TEUs of container will be operating between Chittagong Port and Pangaon Inland Container Terminal (PICL). Each of these ships will cost BDT 25 million. They have been designed uniquely for the inland and coastal route of Bangladesh.

Western Marine Shipyard Limited Inks Deal with Eastern Refinery to Construct 2 Storage Tanks

Western Marine Shipyard Limited inked an agreement with Eastern Refinery for construction of three oil storage tanks to be operated under Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation. Each tank will be capable of holding 13,000 metric tons of fuel oil. The contract was signed by managing director of WMS Sakhawat Hossain and managing director of the ERL AHM Shamsud Doha at the ERL office at Patenga. The project worth BDT 500 million will be built on turnkey basis including design and construction under API 650 Code. The tanks will be handed over to the ERL's north Patenga depot in 2014.
