Ardagh Group Seeks IPO
May 28 14
Ardagh Group S.A. is likely to proceed with stock market launch in the second half of 2015. Ardagh shelved plans to float on Wall Street in 2011, citing market volatility. However, Ardagh said on May 27, 2014 that, following a review of its funding options, it would be in the group's best interests to proceed with plans for an initial public offering (IPO) of its shares in the second half of 2015. Ardagh Group is not likely to determine how much it will raise from its planned IPO until nearer the flotation date.
Ardagh Agrees Remedies with Federal Trade Commission on Saint-Gobain Deal
Apr 11 14
The Federal Trade Commission announced that Ardagh Group SA had agreed to dispose of six glass container plants in the US in order to settle the regulator's charges against its USD 1.69 billion (EUR 1.2 billion) deal to buy Verallia North America from Compagnie de Saint-Gobain SA. The FTC had filed a complaint in July last year to block the transaction over concerns that it would harm competition in the US market for beer and liquor bottles as it would combine the second and third big glass container producers in the US, providing the buyer with a 75% market share. Ardagh has a total of nine glass container manufacturing plants in the US. Under the regulator's order, Ardagh has to sell the plants within six months to an FTC-approved buyer.
