eMeter Announces Availability of EnergyIP(R) Analytics in the Cloud

eMeter announced the availability of EnergyIP(R) Analytics in the cloud. eMeter Cloud Analytics will provide power and water utilities immediate access to actionable dashboards that reduces the costs and empowers utilities to advance operational excellence with a data driven approach. Utilities no longer need to postpone the installation of analytics, thereby realizing immediate business benefits without large up-front investments. Utilities can overcome a lack of trained personnel and supporting hardware, which are the two major investment components needed for utilities to use enhanced data analytics. eMeter Cloud Analytics provides utilities of all sizes a solution for data analytics without purchasing hardware and software licenses, hiring additional IT team members, and adding application support staff. This cloud-based offering increases customers flexibility and scalability to handle peak computing and storage needs. By providing a view of the entire network through data analytics, distributors can decrease inefficiencies and prevent costly outages. Data is stored in the cloud and maintained by the company, while analysts at the utility have the ability to run analysis for a variety of business use cases such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure health, equipment load management, outage analysis, event analysis, revenue protection and load monitoring. By giving customers access to data related to their power and water use, utilities can engage with their customers and educate them on consumption, helping reduce demand and hit regulatory targets. Utilities will also have access to eMeter and Siemens experts to solve their most complex analytics questions. In addition, utilities can leverage the value of existing assets which helps them to better manage demand. The offering is available as an add-on application for current or potential customers regardless of the AMI or Meter Data Management system they use.

eMeter Corporation Launches ELM and GDV Applications

eMeter Corporation has launched Equipment Load Management, or ELM, and Grid Data Vault, or GDV, applications, which are both available on its EnergyIP grid application platform. An application centric approach makes it easier and faster for utilities to use energy consumption data to address business needs and specifically in Europe to hit 2020 renewable energy targets. EnergyIP is a proven and mature platform that enables utilities to scale from 10,000 to 50 million meters and capture meter data that can be acted on, reducing business risk and giving the flexibility to respond to changing regulation via rules based configuration tools. The latest in the EnergyIP application suite, Equipment Load Management (ELM) provides insights into transformers, preventing outages and accidents thereby increasing customer satisfaction although not limited to transformers. Grid Data Vault (GDV) offers best-in-class data archiving software designed to help utilities cost-effectively manage data growth while enabling data accessibility reducing costs and meeting archiving regulations. Siemens continues to expand on its existing suite of applications seamlessly supported on the EnergyIP smart grid platform. By lowering the overall cost to scale up, utilities can add more meters or applications to meet their business needs. The business advantages provided by deploying applications on a proven platform are tangible for both the top and bottom line. EnergyIP supports a high volume of data processing, making it a faster, easier and more flexible platform with advance applications to address unique areas of operational needs while lowering overall total cost of ownership.
