SMI Media Invest was aquired by Verdane Capital. It is the investment arm of the Swedish financial services group Skandia. The firm targets media companies, specifically those that are, or are involved with, interactive digital television enterprises. As the firm operates in such a niche market, it is able to use its in depth expertise to maximize the potential it is able to extract from its portfolio. SMI is interested in investing in businesses that are beyond their initial seed stage and have developed technology but which have not yet significantly expanded or marketed themselves. SMI Media Invest was established in April 2000 and is based in Stockholm, Sweden.
