Osborne Clarke has hired a team of four partners and three associates to kickstart its new Amsterdam office. Of the firm's new partners, two joined directly from Baker & McKenzie's Amsterdam office, while one hailed from Norton Rose Fulbright and another from Dutch firm Steins Bisschop & Schepel. Former Bakers' partner Michiel Odink, who led the US-based firm's IP practice in Amsterdam, has become Osborne Clarke's first managing partner in the city. IT partner Jeroen Lub joined from Norton Rose Fulbright having departed from A&O in 2013. His stint at the magic circle firm coincided with that of employment partner Jorgo Tsiris, who also left A&O to join Steins Bisschop & Schepel last year before joining Osborne Clarke.
Osborne Clarke to Launch in San Francisco; Appoints Steve Wilson to Head San Francisco Office

Osborne Clarke is to open in San Francisco, six months after the firm sent a heavyweight contingent to launch an office in Manhattan. The new base, which will be in San Francisco's South of Market (SoMa) neighbourhood, is aimed at helping the firm build closer ties with its technology client base. The SoMa region is known for being a technology hotbed.
Partner Steve Wilson, who currently heads the firm's Silicon Valley office, will also become head of the San Francisco office.
