GE Capital, Healthcare Financial Services announced that it has amended its existing $2 million senior secured credit facility to Saladax Biomedical, Inc. to provide an additional $8 million multi-draw term loan facility and to modify the terms of the existing $2 million term loan. GE Capital, Healthcare Financial Services is acting as administrative agent and sole lender for the credit facility. The loans will be used to provide Saladax with working capital to support ongoing commercialization efforts and for other corporate purposes.

Saladax Biomedical, Inc. announced the U.S. launch of the MyCare(TM) portfolio of exposure optimization tests. The MyCare portfolio is comprised of simple blood tests that provide oncologists with specific information about each patient's exposure to chemotherapy, to help the doctor make informed decisions on drug dose adjustments, with the goals of maximizing the therapy's effectiveness and limiting its potential side effects. Saladax Biomedical Laboratories (SBL) will manage the commercialization and clinical laboratory operations for the MyCare portfolio of products at its CLIA-certified facility located in Bethlehem, PA. SBL's initial test menu offering is focused on three chemotherapy exposure optimization tests; MyPaclitaxel(TM), MyDocetaxel(TM) and also My5-FU(TM), which is currently marketed under the trade name OnDose(R) and being transitioned from Myriad Genetic Laboratories. A description of the three MyCare tests being launched is as follows: My5-FU-A simple blood test used to measure and help optimize a patient's exposure to 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) therapy; a chemotherapy commonly used in the treatment of colorectal, breast, and head and neck cancers.
