Emerson Network Power has introduced its new ASCO Multiple Bus Load and Generator Control software. The new ASCO Multiple Bus Load and Generator Control software makes it possible for a single programmable logic controller (PLC) in ASCO Generator Paralleling Switchgear to reliably operate up to eight independent multiple buses simultaneously with full, functionality. In addition, when multiple buses are part of a 3 phase, complex tie breaker connected ring, the ASCO Multiple Bus Load and Generator Control software offers the flexibility to operate any combination of the buses as a single system, or separately when they're disconnected, again with full functionality. It reflects ASCO's ability to program the most complex software and represents the latest in a long line of ASCO technology innovations. Full functionality encompasses automatic gen-set startup, block loading, load priority pass-along, under frequency load shed, bus optimization, bus overload, load demand, load control, load hand-off auto, and no-load system test. Sacrificing such functionalities as block loading, bus optimization, load shed bypass, and load demand limited control flexibility, but no more. All those functionalities now occur independently on isolated buses and simultaneously on buses with tie breakers. In fact, ASCO Multiple Bus Load and Generator Control software enhances operational flexibility. Hospitals and other mission critical facilities, such as data centers, often want to power more than priority one loads. But closing and opening tie breakers for multiple loads on multiple buses to connect with multiple gen-sets could be problematic. Now, they can manage that process automatically, even if they have two entirely separate systems and want to manage them with one PLC. ASCO Multiple Bus Load and Generator Control software drives a PLC in the Master section of the lineup. It controls up to 16 gen-sets and 128 loads spread across up to eight buses. It is suitable for both standard and mission-critical applications, and low- and medium voltage systems.

Emerson Network Power has introduced a new 40G ATCA blade, powered by the new 10-core Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v2 family. The Emerson ATCA-7475 teams two of the new processors with two Intel Communications Chipset 89xx Series devices for balanced offload acceleration. The new blade also provides the possible memory subsystem and full bandwidth active/active 40G fabric interfaces to enable the performance packet processing and security applications in network data centers or telecom central offices.

Emerson Network Power announced a new 40G ATCA blade, powered by the new 10-core Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v2 family, designed for optimized and efficient performance. The Emerson ATCA-7475 teams two of the new processors with two Intel(r) Communications Chipset 89xx Series devices for balanced offload acceleration. The new blade also provides the fast possible memory subsystem and full bandwidth active/active 40G fabric interfaces to enable the high performance packet processing and security applications in network data centers or telecom central offices. A wide range of rear transition modules (RTMs) provides unrivalled flexibility in storage and I/O, making it easier for network equipment providers to integrate Emerson's ATCA-7475 into different network infrastructures. The new blade is designed to provide a smooth migration path for users of Emerson's ATCA-7470 packet processing blade and a performance and functionality boost for users of other ATCA blades based on Intel Xeon processors. A key feature enabling this consolidation is the Intel(r) Data Plane Development Kit (Intel DPDK), which is fully supported by Emerson's ATCA-7475. The optimized libraries included in Intel DPDK enable fast packet movement in the data plane using multi-core Intel processors, and Intel DPDK thus enables the faster execution of packet processing workloads across the network without sacrificing security. The ATCA-7475 is optimized to work with Emerson Network Power's range of ATCA system platforms which cover two-slot, six-slot and 14-slot variants that are designed to meet the need of both telecom central office and network data center environments.
