Goodrich Tobacco Company Delivers Additional Proprietary Research Cigarettes with Various Nicotine Levels

22nd Century Group Inc. announced that Goodrich Tobacco Company has delivered an additional 5.5 million SPECTRUM(R) government research cigarettes. SPECTRUM was developed by 22nd Century for NIDA, a department of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). As the only company in the world capable of producing very low nicotine (VLN) tobacco products, 22nd Century was chosen by NIDA to supply its proprietary cigarettes as a subcontractor under a federal government contract. The main SPECTRUM product line consists of a series of cigarette styles that have a fixed "tar" yield but varying nicotine yields over a 50-fold range -- from very low to high. Altogether, SPECTRUM features 24 styles, 11 regular and 13 menthol versions, with 8 different levels of nicotine content.

Goodrich Tobacco Company, LLC Grants Exclusive Distribution Rights to Wilshire Marketing BV for Very Low Nicotine Cigarette Brand in Benelux

22nd Century Group Inc. announced that its subsidiary Goodrich Tobacco Company, LLC has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Wilshire Marketing BV for the DUTCH MAGIC(TM) brand in The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg, known as Benelux. DUTCH MAGIC consists of two cigarette brand styles and two roll-your-own brand styles. Unlike "light" and "ultra light" cigarette brands, which essentially have the same nicotine content as full flavor brands, DUTCH MAGIC cigarettes have a nicotine content that is significantly reduced. The very low nicotine Dutch Magic brand style contains approximately 95% less nicotine than typical "ultra light" and "light" cigarettes. The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg are the first European countries in which very low nicotine tobacco products will be available to consumers. Goodrich Tobacco Company will ship Wilshire's initial order of 450,000 packs of DUTCH MAGIC in July 2013. The exclusive distribution agreement requires minimum annual purchases by Wilshire Marketing BV that peak at $3,000,000 in calendar year 2015. Wilshire Marketing BV is investing substantial marketing funds to launch DUTCH MAGIC in Benelux.
