Exel has announced the appointment of John Gilbert, CEO Americas, as the chairman of Williams Lea. As Chairman, Gilbert will leverage his expertise in operational excellence and work to focus on growth in the Americas. He will continue to be responsible for all operations in the Americas region, with a focus on growing the company's business. Denise Klapper has been appointed as the new vice president Global & Americas Marketing. Klapper will add global marketing responsibilities to her current role as Americas lead for Exel and DHL Supply Chain. In her new role, she will oversee divisional marketing and external communication strategies in the Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa regions, as well as the DSC headquarters in Bonn, Germany. With more than 20 years of marketing experience, Klapper was most recently Senior Director of Marketing for the Americas region. Ted Nikolai has been appointed as the new Chief Commercial Officer, Supply Chain Americas. In his new role, Nikolai will align support across the business including IT technology, real estate, risk management, procurement, delivery effectiveness, commercial contract management and security, among others. Nikolai has been with Exel since 1996, and was most recently President Automotive, Chemical & Energy, Engineering and Manufacturing. Scott Sureddin has been appointed as the new COO, Supply Chain Americas. As COO, Sureddin will be responsible for five North American business operations including chemical and energy, consumer, life sciences and healthcare, power packaging, retail, Exel Direct and managed transportation. Sureddin joined Exel in 2002 as part of the consumer business and was most recently President Consumer Life Sciences & Healthcare.
