Exablox Corp. Key Developments

Exablox's Customers Deploy More Than One Petabyte of Storage in the First Two Quarters of Shipping Product in 2013

Exablox announced that its award winning OneBlox(R) scale-out storage appliance provides the storage fastest time to deployment and its customers have deployed more than one petabyte of storage in its first two quarters of shipping product in 2013. Exablox's zero-configuration appliance can be installed and available for use within five minutes including enterprise storage management features. The company provides mid-market customers with the quickest and easiest route to managing the escalating growth of their unstructured data by eliminating time-consuming storage management tasks, achieving rapid deployment times, and offering the flexibility of its Bring Your Own Drive (BYOD) strategy. In addition, enterprise features such as a global file system, three-minute storage expansion, inline deduplication and Continuous Data Protection, combined with OneSystem's(R) zero configuration storage management, results in a shortened sales cycle for Exablox's channel partners.

Hooper Lundy & Bookman Chooses Exablox's Scale-Out Storage over Data Domain for Primary Storage, Backup and Disaster Recovery Solution

Exablox announced that Hooper Lundy & Bookman, P.C. (HLB), the full-service law firm in the country dedicated solely to the representation of health-care providers and suppliers, chose OneBlox(R) over Data Domain, ExaGrid Systems and Quantum as its storage solution. HLB needed a scalable architecture to support its litigation imaging, Veeam Backup and disaster recovery requirements. The law firm selected Exablox for its scale-out architecture, inline deduplication and reliability, as well as for Exablox's Bring the Own Drive (BYOD) strategy. BYOD offers users the flexibility to purchase exactly the capacity they need when they need it and the ability to mix and match commodity hard drives. These features, combined with the ease of management via OneSystem(R), a secure, multi-tenant cloud-based management service, made Exablox the best solution for the firm's storage needs. With multiple offices and data centers in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Washington, D.C., HLB needed an affordable solution that could consolidate storage, scale with the firm's growth and eliminate storage islands. As the firm's recovery requirements changed, its backup methodology required a migration from tape to disk. With approximately 50 virtual machines and 15 TBs of data, HLB needed an efficient deduplication solution for long-term retention of critical information. OneBlox's BYOD strategy and its next-generation object-based file system enabled the scalability, deduplication and reliability HLB required.

Balboa Park Online Collaborative Selects on Exablox's OneBlox for its Scale-Out Storage and Backup Systems

Exablox announced that Balboa Park Online Collaborative (BPOC) has selected OneBlox(TM) with OneSystem(TM) as its scale-out storage and backup solution. BPOC was looking for an affordable, easy-to-manage, scale-out storage solution after both NetApp's and Dell's shared storage solutions came up short. Exablox's scale-out architecture allows BPOC to scale as it grows, resulting in significant CAPEX savings and reducing management time by an estimated 40 hours per month. BPOC has consistently enhanced the technology capabilities of its clients, including re-launching more than 25 websites on Drupal, a community-based content management system; digitizing more than 180,000 museum objects; providing more than 800 person-days of technology-focused training; providing affordable desktop/server support for 13 organizations; and building needed park-wide technical infrastructure such as a high-speed fiber network to support future collaboration. These projects add strain to BPOC's current infrastructure, causing the organization to rethink its storage strategy.
