CombineNet, Inc. Enhances CombineNet ASAP(R)
Aug 26 13
CombineNet, Inc. announced that its e-sourcing product, CombineNet ASAP(R), has been enhanced with new features making it easier and faster for procurement team members to launch and manage sourcing events that benefit from advanced sourcing capabilities and support global supplier networks. The new CombineNet ASAP release features a streamlined sourcing event creation process for rapidly applying Expressive Bidding(R), creating tailored analytics, and optimizing award decisions for spends of any category, size, or level of complexity. In addition, CombineNet ASAP adds globalization and localization capabilities through multi-lingual supplier interfaces; capacity collection across multiple levels to help reduce supply risks; and performance enhancements to support the "big data" needs of larger-scale sourcing events. As a SaaS-based solution, CombineNet ASAP's newest enhancements are now immediately available to all users, and include: New Event Creation Wizard: provides an intuitive workflow with contextual, survey-based guidance throughout the process of creating an e-sourcing event, including options for RFI, sealed-bid RFP, and multiple E-Auction event types. This new process enables sourcing managers to more efficiently create an e-sourcing event from multiple starting points, ensures they take advantage of ASAP's most powerful event-management options, and simplifies the configuration of sophisticated capabilities necessary for advanced sourcing events; Redesigned Event Management: enables sourcing teams to better organize and manage their events through Web 2.0-type capabilities such as "pin to top," tagging, and tag clouds, while also streamlining event management with better access to real-time event information through asynchronous downloads, no matter how complex the report; Supplier-Side Globalization/Localization: allows sourcing teams to leverage higher value, regional or local suppliers in global markets, with initial support for Chinese, German, Spanish and French languages; Advanced Currency Configuration: adds additional support for global sourcing activities, so sourcing teams can configure advanced currency options, including specifying different bid currencies on items based on their business and financial needs; Capacity Across Items: enables sourcing teams to identify additional savings while reducing risk, by configuring events that collect a supplier's capacity (volume) at multiple levels as part of the bid response, including capacity at the item level and rolled-up levels such as by item family, geographic locations, or other levels. By collecting capacity at multiple levels, suppliers are able to compete on all items within the sourcing event, while buyers can determine how to best allocate their available capacity. This provides greater competition between suppliers, and more options for the buyer, without incurring the risk of awarding a supplier more business than they can support in total.
CombineNet, Inc. Continues to Deliver More Advanced E-Sourcing Capabilities with Newest Enhancements to CombineNet ASAP(R) Product
Feb 25 13
CombineNet, Inc. announced that its best-in-class e-sourcing product, CombineNet ASAP(R), has been enhanced with new features which provide companies with even more advanced sourcing capabilities to support a wider range of sourcing and procurement strategies. This feature rich release includes multiple enhancements for buyers to create and manage advanced e-sourcing events that incorporate different types of items being sourced simultaneously, with advanced cost models, new rules for how suppliers participate in bidding events, and more extensive RFI questions and response types for evaluating a supplier's overall value to the buying company. As a SaaS-based solution, the latest enhancements to the CombineNet ASAP sourcing solution are now immediately available to all users, and include: Multiple Item Types -- Enables buyers to create and manage sourcing events that include more than one type of item in the same event. Multiple item type events can include items with distinct characteristics different bid information to be collected from suppliers, and unique cost models for each item type. These events allow buyers to aggregate larger spend pools amongst overlapping supply bases in a single event, or use non-normalized data to represent similar items with different specifications, reducing the work required to aggregate spends and normalize data before conducting a sourcing event. Advanced Cost Models -- Buyers can now create If/Then formulas within their cost models. This is required to support the evaluation of multiple types of items in the same event, but can also be used to create If/Then cost models that are applied based on the characteristics of an item, supplier profiles, RFI responses, or price and non-price bid responses as defined by the buyer. New Bidding Rules -- Bidding rules can now be applied to support the buyer's sourcing strategies, by determining how suppliers must respond to both price and non-price bid components. Included in these bidding rules is the ability to control whether suppliers can increase their prices during a bidding event, or if there are minimum or maximum prices that an be set by the buyer. Enhanced RFI Capabilities -- New Request for Information (RFI) enhancements improve the accuracy of vendor-supplied data and enable buyers to more effectively evaluate a supplier's overall response to a multi-stage e-sourcing event. These enhancements include new and more extensive question and response types, and the ability to include RFI responses as factors used in If/Then cost models, enabling buyers to apply different cost models and bid evaluations based on the supplier's responses to the Request for Information.
