Acentia announced that Richard Jacik has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Sector Executive for Health. Jacik replaces Mike Raymond who is retiring. Jacik will lead the execution of the Sector's business strategy and will oversee all contracts, business development, and operations activities. He will report to Acentia President and COO Robert McCord. Prior to joining Acentia, Jacik served as Vice President and Senior Account Executive over a portfolio of strategic growth-oriented accounts, including the Food and Drug Administration, Office of the National Coordinator; Department of the Treasury; Defense Health Agency; and Department of Veterans Affairs for CGI. Acentia Wins 5-Year, $1.25 Million Contract from the State of Rhode Island Department of Health

Acentia announced it has been awarded a 5-year, $1.25 million contract from the State of Rhode Island Department of Health. The company will provide a secure cloud-based National Electronic Disease Surveillance System Base System (NBS) for the Department of Health's Division of Infectious Disease and Epidemiology (IDE). IDE serves and protects the Rhode Island public by controlling the spread of infectious diseases and uses the NBS as the primary method of disease incidence monitoring, case management, disease surveillance, analysis, and notification of diseases to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Under this new agreement, Acentia will move IDE's current RI-NBS to a secure cloud-based model. Acentia will provide infrastructure and application administration for all RI-NBS users for the life of the agreement.
