The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce announced República on its new role as Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s (BIPI) first cross-cultural advertising agency. República will be responsible for executing BIPI's marketing communications strategy in the U.S, through a multi-phase campaign raising awareness for BIPI and several of its brand portfolios within America's multicultural markets. This initiative is slated to launch by the summer of 2013.

República, LLC is seeking acquisitions in Los Angeles. Jorge Plasencia, Chief Executive Officer of República, said, "Republica is looking at Los Angeles in a big way and since it sees the potential for client growth in the region, the agency may acquire a firm or open an office in the Los Angeles area in the next year."

R publica has appointed Enrique Dussan VP-media services, a new senior-level position at the cross-cultural advertising, branding, promotions, digital and communications agency. Previously, Mr. Dussan was VP-director of communications planning at Wing/Grey Global. A 30-year industry veteran, Mr. Dussan has also worked as VP-media at MARCA, VP-media services at MFP&W/JWT; VP-group media director at Casanova Pendrill/Universal McCann, New York, and president of Koncecom/Ketchum, Puerto Rico.
