Visioneer, Inc. announced that through its development relationship with Microsoft Corp., Visioneer scanner drivers have all been tested and deemed fully compatible with the new Windows 8 operating system and are available for immediate download. Visioneer has updated the drivers for their most popular professional and consumer scanners so users can take advantage of the enhanced productivity of Windows 8. Visioneer is committed to giving customers a favorable scanner experience with full operating system compatibility and engineering team has worked diligently to ensure that products are compatible with the new Windows 8 OS.

Visioneer, Inc. announced that John Capurso has been promoted to serve as its president and chief operating officer. He previously served Visioneer as vice president of marketing and prior to that as Vice President of Sales for ScanSoft and Director of Sales at Adobe Systems and Jim Tamo has been promoted to vice president of worldwide distribution and international sales. Tamo joined Visioneer in 2007 and most recently held the position of vice president of distribution sales. Over the years Tamo has demonstrated superior sales results and established invaluable channel relationships.

Visioneer, Inc. announced Visioneer DriverPLUS, a new generation of driver technology for Visioneer and Xerox DocuMate scanners. Based on TWAIN 2.1 specifications, Visioneer DriverPLUS combines the features of advanced 32- and 64-bit native Windows(R) -based TWAIN and WIA drivers PLUS new Visioneer Acuity optimization software and a sophisticated user interface. Development of Visioneer DriverPLUS began months ago when the TWAIN Working Group (TWG) announced their certification program for scanner drivers. Visioneer committed to the program and made available TWAIN 2.1 Certified drivers for 11 Visioneer scanner models and 22 Xerox DocuMate scanner models on the day of the announcement. Visioneer immediately began looking to implement additional improvements to raise the bar on TWAIN driver performance through the development of DriverPLUS. The features of Visioneer DriverPLUS include: new TWAIN driver; new and powerful GUI; 2.1 TWAIN programmatic interface; TWAIN 2.1 Windows 7 Certified Driver (32 and 64 bit native application support); new WIA driver; new and powerful GUI; identical feature set to TWAIN; most robust WIA driver; silent deployment options for administrators; Visioneer Acuity integration for TWAIN and WIA; Windows 7 Device Stage integration; Windows update deployment; Web-based firmware updates; and Visioneer OneTouch 4.6.4 and above compatibility. DriverPLUS will be part of new product releases in the Visioneer and Xerox DocuMate product lines going forward. The first products will be appearing this quarter. DriverPLUS will be available for currently shipping Visioneer and Xerox DocuMate scanners in a staged release that will continue throughout 2012.
