Vodafone Hungary and Hargamon Launches Bike Tracking Application

Vodafone Hungary and Hargamon launched a bike tracking application. The service comprises a box installed permanently to the bike's frame that sends GPS coordinates to a web portal that uses digital mapping technology. All this is linked to the user's smartphone through an app. Velotrack has three functions. First, it can prevent theft when bikes are parked by sharing information. Second, it has a tracking feature that enables real time monitoring by friends and family. Last, it has a tracking feature for various sports statistics which can be obtained about the bike tour.

Vodafone Magyarorszag Wins HUF 4.5 Billion Tender to Supply State Institutions

Vodafone Magyarorszag has won a tender to supply net HUF 4.5 billion of mobile telecommunications services to government offices and organizations in 2014-2015. The contract covers tens of thousands of subscriptions at more than 100 institutions, including ministries, the police, rescue services and the tax office.

Vodafone Hungary to Invest HUF 450 Million in Miskolc Call Centre

Vodafone Hungary announced that it will invest HUF 450 million from 2014 to 2015 in its regional customer service centre in Miskolc, a city in northeastern Hungary situated in Borsod county. A total of 240 new jobs will added to the existing 240 jobs at the centre as a result of this investment. The operator's investment is the result of a programme signed with Miskolc authorities in 2009, valued at more than HUF 1 billion. Vodafone has already started recruiting staff for the new positions.
