In this key role, Beliveau is responsible for Morton Salt's Human Resources function and staff across all company operations in the U.S., Canada and the Bahamas. Morton Salt, Inc. Announces Temporary Layoffs

Morton Salt, Inc. said employees who temporarily lost their jobs in September will not return to work this month at the company's facility off Headlands Road. In a notice filed with the state under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, Morton Salt said it closed the facility for maintenance on September 17, putting 78 employees on temporary leave. The company expects to reopen the plant Monday but will not bring everyone back, "due to business circumstances not reasonably foreseeable at the time the facility was temporarily shut down." The company also is cutting two nonunion jobs - a foreman and a lab technician - on October 12. The layoffs include miners, janitors, utility operators and a fork truck operator.
