L-3 WESCAM Launches its Advanced Operator Training Course for Mx™-Series of EO/IR imaging and targeting Turrets

L-3 WESCAM announced the launch of its Advanced Operator Training course for the MXTM-Series of EO/IR imaging and targeting turrets. Designed for experienced system operators, the new course's advanced curriculum builds on knowledge acquired in the prerequisite course - WESCAM Operations and Organizational Maintenance. L-3 WESCAM's Advanced Operator Training course comprises a set of common modules that are completely customized to match the operator's turret configuration and mission requirements. Course modules include pre-mission planning, execution and tactics, mission analysis, sensor selection and optimization, steering mode selections, in-flight training, MX-Sim training missions and post-mission review. Depending on module customization and the required in-flight training schedule, the course can run between three to five days. Course dates and times are based on customer availability, as the final curriculum is designed to match the exact requirements of each customer group. The Advanced Operator Training course is the newest component of L-3 WESCAM's complete training solution. This comprehensive solution is a portfolio of training offerings designed for execution over a period of several years to keep operators, maintainers and their L-3 WESCAM systems operating at maximum potential. The training portfolio includes product familiarization, operation and organizational maintenance, and intermediate-level maintenance courses.

L-3 WESCAM Launches Two New Products at the 2013 Paris Air Show

L-3 WESCAM announced the launch of two new products that directly reduce the costs associated with development testing and the sustainment of fielded electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) surveillance and targeting systems. The new MXTM-Emulator and MXTM-RAid products support L-3 WESCAM's portfolio of MXTM-Series systems for military, homeland security and airborne law enforcement use. The launch of the MX-Emulator enables system integrators and OEMs to dramatically reduce the System Integration Lab (SIL) development costs associated with critical integration activities. Engineered to replicate the exact functionality of airborne and ground-based MX systems, the MX-Emulator provides connectivity to all standard control systems, including hand- controllers, operator control units, joysticks and mission grips. L-3's concurrent launch of the MX-RAid, Internet version, provides a remote diagnostic capability for the evaluation of fielded MX-Series EO/IR systems. This exclusive capability gives L-3 WESCAM's customers immediate access to an in-house factory technician who can diagnose in-service system issues from afar. Originally conducted over a satellite connection, this new Internet-based connection option provides a data link between an L-3 WESCAM technician and the fielded MX-Series system, enabling live video, voice or text chat capability, and the streaming of live system video. The MX-RAid technology returns some systems to operational status from the field and reduces the number of systems being sent to service facilities with ‘No Fault Found’ (NFF) systems issues.

L-3 WESCAM Opens Authorized Service Center in Florida

L-3 WESCAM announced that it has signed an agreement with L-3 Component Overhaul and Repair (COR) to open a WESCAM Authorized Service Center (WASC) in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Now fully operational, the facility provides customers in the United States with a 40,000-square-foot center equipped to maintain its MX™-Series of electro-optical and infrared imaging turrets.
