BSI Group has recruited Anne Francke to take the new position of managing director of global customer and product strategy. Francke will oversee four departments, including that headed by director of group marketing and communications Frank Post. Francke is a former global general manager of new business development for Procter & Gamble, a former chief marketing officer at Yell and strategic marketing director at Boots. She left Yell in the middle of an advertising agency review in July 2006. She is currently the president and co-founder of online organic beauty emporium beautorium.com.

BSI Group Launches Online Data Protection Tool

BSI Group launches BSI Data Protection Online, an online tool designed to help organizations with the effective management of personal information. The new online self-assessment tool offers guidance and self-assessment in support of BS 10012, the data protection standard published by BSI earlier this year. The standard provides a framework which enables effective management of personal information, paving the way for an infrastructure for maintaining and improving compliance with data protection legislation. BSI Data Protection Online enables an organization to systematically work through its Personal Information Management System (PIMS), testing strengths and identifying areas for improvement. This process develops confidence in procedures and practices and will ultimately help deliver a better service to customers.

BSI Group to Launch Business Continuity Management System to Help UAE Companies Deal with Crisis

BSI Group is introducing its Business Continuity Management (BCM) system, BS 25999-2, in the UAE to help companies prepare for the worst rather than hope for the best. Official launch events are taking place in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on the 26th and 27th March, 2008, respectively. BCM is a process of managing the risks related to a company's resilience to unexpected incidents; planning how to respond to events and how to recover afterwards. The BSI model has been well received since its launch in London, New York and Tokyo and has been eagerly anticipated by businesses in the Gulf region.
