NTR Mulls Acquisitions; Due Diligence Underway For Ireland Investment

NTR plc is looking for acquisitions. Rosheen McGuckian, Chief Executive Officer of NTR plc said, "In addition to the US assets the company now plans to invest in new assets in northern Europe, especially in the UK and Ireland. That will begin within months with a new €400 million investment in a project to build a 150 KW generating wind farm in Ireland. The project will be funded with a mix of project finance and around €150 million of equity, of which one third will come from NTR. The company was in due diligence on a potential investment on the island of Ireland."

NTR Reports Earnings Results for the Fiscal Year 2014

NTR reported earnings results for the fiscal year 2014. The company posted its first profit in six years for its full year 2014 mainly due to one-off deals but also because it cut costs and improved cash generation. It recorded a profit of EUR 31.4 million for the financial year 2014, which is an improvement of EUR 47.5 million on the previous year when it made a loss of EUR 16.2 million. Profit before non-recurring, one-off items and foreign exchange impacts was EUR 7.9 million. Core profits or EBITDA grew by 138% year on year from EUR 19.3 million to EUR 45.8 million as a result of a full year of operations of the 201MW Post Rock wind farm and a strong operational performance by both the Group's wind and water treatment assets, together with the removal of EUR 8 million in central overheads. Revenues grew from EUR 35.3 million to EUR 45.6 million in the same period, an increase of 29%.
