Pratt & Whitney Concludes Purepower Geared Turbofan Engine Partnering with Recent Kawasaki Heavy Industries Agreement

Pratt & Whitney and Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. met recently to commemorate the signing of a risk and revenue-sharing collaboration agreement for KHI to provide key hardware modules for Pratt & Whitney's PurePower Geared Turbofan (GTF) engines. Pratt & Whitney currently has 10 worldwide GTF collaboration partners, many of which work across multiple GTF engine variants to be installed on various aircraft platforms for Pratt & Whitney customers. These aircraft programs are directed by Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, Bombardier Aerospace, Airbus, Irkut and Embraer. Pursuant to the collaboration agreements, partners will provide hardware modules and assembly and test services with an expected value in excess of $49 billion over the life of the programs.

Pratt & Whitney Provides Earnings Guidance for the Year 2015

Pratt & Whitney provided earnings guidance for the year 2015. For the year 2015, the company expects organic sales are to be up low single digit, reported sales are to be up low single digit and operating profit is to be down $25 million to $100 million.

ExxonMobil Aviation Signs Agreement with Pratt and Whitney Company

ExxonMobil Aviation signed a agreement to have its advanced, High-Performance Capability (HPC) synthetic jet engine oil, Mobil JetTM Oil 387, tested in all of Pratt & Whitney's PurePower engine models. Scheduled to begin in early 2015, the multi-year testing program will span the complete family of PurePower engines, including the PW1100G-JM, PW1200G, PW1400G, PW1500G, PW800, PW1700G and PW1900G engine models. Pratt & Whitney's PurePower engines are widely featured on regional and single-aisle aircraft and have been recognized for their ability to reduce fuel burn, emissions, engine noise and overall operating costs.
