UTC Aerospace Systems and AVIC Electromechanical Company Limited (AVIC EM) announced the opening of their joint venture facility: Xi'an AVIC Hamilton Sundstrand Aviation Electric Co., Ltd. (AUAE) located within the Xi'an Hi-tech Industries Development Zone. The joint venture was formed to develop and manufacture the electric power system for the new C919 jetliner, built by Commercial Aviation Corporation of China (COMAC). AUAE is a 50-50 joint venture established by UTC Aerospace Systems' Hamilton Sundstrand Holdings Inc. and AVIC EM's subsidiary Shaanxi Aero Electric Co., Ltd. to develop and manufacture electric power systems for COMAC's C919 as well as supply UTC Aerospace Systems equipment for the international market.
UTV Aerospace Systems to Provide Nacelle Component Maintenance and Spare Components for Spirit Airlines

Spirit Airlines has chosen UTC Aerospace Systems' Aerostructures business to provide maintenance for the nozzles for the Airbus A320-family aircraft in its fleet that are powered by V2500 engines. The work will be performed at UTC Aerospace Systems' Alabama Service Center located in Foley, Ala. Under the three-year agreement, the Alabama Service Center will provide Spirit Airlines with assets to cover removal of nozzles during engine maintenance. The removed nozzles will be sent to the Alabama Service Center for service.
UTC Aerospace Systems Signs Agreement with JetBlue Airways to Provide Nacelle Maintenance

UTC Aerospace Systems has signed an agreement with JetBlue Airways to provide nacelle maintenance for the airline's fleet of 130 Airbus A320 aircraft powered by V2500-A5 engines, as well as its 60 Embraer E190 aircraft powered by CF34-10 engines. Under the five-year agreement, UTC Aerospace Systems will be the exclusive provider of maintenance for the thrust reversers and common nozzle assemblies for JetBlue's A320 fleet, as well as the inlets, fan cowls, thrust reversers and common nozzle assemblies for the E190 aircraft. The maintenance work will be performed at the Aerostructures' Alabama Service Center in Foley, Ala.
