Dana Holding Corporation's Spicer Signs Agreement with CARQUEST Corporation

Dana Holding Corporation announced that its Spicer(R) brand of universal joints, including Spicer Life Series(R) premium performance universal joints, are now being sold through CARQUEST Corporation. Manufactured to the same high standards as original-equipment (OE) parts -- because they are OE parts -- Spicer(R) u-joints ensure reduced wear and a long service life, while maintaining maximum performance to fit the vehicles. Additionally, Spicer u-joints are uniquely crafted to ensure proper balancing for reduced noise, vibration, and harshness; less downtime; and simplified, more cost-effective vehicle maintenance.

CARQUEST Reportedly On The Block

CARQUEST Corporation might be up for sale in the market as General Parts International, Inc. has reportedly engaged Wells Fargo to handle the sale process. The deal is speculated to create as much as $2 billion. Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and Leonard Green & Partners, L.P. are said to potential bidders for CARQUEST. General Parts International is speculated to be the majority owner of the CARQUEST. O. Temple Sloan III, President and CEO of CARQUEST, did not comment to Triangle Business Journal. General Parts' spokeswoman, Dorothy Brown Smith, said, "We are a private company, and we can’t comment on any rumors you may have heard. We find it’s a big distraction for team members."
