Isolux Corsán Signs a Contract to Build a Hydropower Plant in Bolivia for $398 Million

Isolux Corsán has been awarded a contract to build a hydropower plant in Bolivia, valued at $398 million. The project includes the construction, in the province of Inquisivi, of two hydropower substations that will have a generation capacity of over 200 MW. The first of them will be the Umapalca power station, which will offer a power output of 85 MW and an estimated annual production of 416 GWh. The second is the Palillada power station, which will have a power output of 120 MW and an estimated annual production of 598 GWh. The project includes the construction of six tunnels that will serve to transport the flowing water needed for the power plant to operate, as well as the building of dams in lakes, time-scheduled reservoirs and 180 kilometres of access roads to the facilities. The project, which will be implemented under the EPC /turnkey modality, was awarded by the National Electricity Company (ENDE) and has an execution timeframe of four and a half years. It will serve to supply industries and homes in the area.
Isolux Corsán Signs a Contract for the Construction of 212 Kilometers of Transmission Lines in Chile

Isolux Corsán has been awarded the contract for the construction of 212 kilometers of transmission lines between substations Maitencillo and Pan de Azúcar in the Chilean region of Valparaíso. The project, which has a budget of $39 million and a completion period of 18 months will be performed due to a partnership agreement with Interchile and is part of the expansion plan called 'Chile LT 2 × 500 kV Cardones-Polpaico' which aims to strengthen the Central Interconnected System (SIC) between the substations of Cardones, south of Copiapó, and Polpaico, north of Santiago.

Isolux Corsan announced earnings results for the first quarter of 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenues stood at EUR 436 million, of which 85% came from outside Spain (72% in 2013), above all from strategic areas such as Asia and Latin America. EBITDA was EUR 29 million, increasing the margin from 6.2%, in last year, to 6.6% reflected better management efficiency.
