Gov. Jerry Brown Appoints Trustees to the California State University

Gov. Jerry Brown appointed Democrat and a Republican to the California State University Board of Trustees, which oversees the 23-campus system. Appointees have one year to be confirmed by the Senate, after which they can serve out the rest of their terms, which is eight years. The appointees can participate in the CSU trustees meetings on March 25-26, 2014. Two of the appointees fill out vacancies created by the deaths of two trustees on the board. Adam Day of Alpine is a 44-year-old assistant tribal manager for the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. From 2000 to 2002, Day was general manager at NCG Porter Novelli, a public relations firm, and was vice president at the Flannery Group, from 1999 to 2000. The Republican has held a number of key position in politics, including chief of staff for San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, and defense and foreign affairs legislative assistant for former U.S. Senator Pete Wilson in 1990. Lillian Kimbell-Del Bosque, of Woodland Hills, who has been legal counsel and manager of Spanish language authors and publisher relations at Gardels and Associates since 2011. The 54-year-old Democrat was legal counsel and business manager at the Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions from 1997 to 2011.
