Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, New York, won a federal contract valued at up to $20,687,500 from the U.S. Department of the Treasury for restructuring legal services.

Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP announced the expansion of its financial institutions group with the addition of two lawyers, Gregory J. Lyons and Satish M. Kini, as partners of the firm. Mr. Lyons and Mr. Kini each focus on serving the needs of financial institutions, as well as private equity and other funds that invest in financial institutions, with a particular emphasis on domestic and cross-border bank regulatory, transactional and examination matters. Mr. Lyons will serve as Co-Chair for the Americas of the firm's Financial Institutions Group and will be resident in the New York office. He joins Debevoise from the Boston office of Goodwin Procter LLP where he was a partner and Co-Chair of its Financial Services Group and Chair of its Banking Practice. Mr. Kini will serve as Co-Chair of Debevoise's Banking Practice and will be resident in the Washington, D.C. office. He joins Debevoise from the Washington, D.C. office of Goodwin Procter LLP where he was a partner and member of that firm's Financial Services Practice.

Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP announced that Paul M. Rodel, Jeffrey E. Ross and Keith J. Slattery have been named counsel to the firm. Paul M. Rodel, based in the firm's New York office, is a member of the Corporate Department. His practice focuses on registered and private equity and debt capital markets transactions for issuers and underwriters in the U.S. and Latin America, especially Brazil. Prior to joining Debevoise in 2005, Mr. Rodel worked in the New York and Frankfurt offices of Davis Polk & Wardwell and worked in the New York and Geneva offices of McKinsey & Company. Jeffrey E. Ross, based in the firm's New York office, is a member of the Corporate Department. His practice focuses on corporate transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures and other business combinations in numerous industries, including the financial and insurance industries, for private equity sponsor and strategic clients. Keith J. Slattery, based in the firm's New York office, is a member of the Corporate Department. His practice focuses on corporate insurance and indemnification. Prior to joining Debevoise in 2008, Mr. Slattery was a Senior Vice President at American International Group Inc., where he served as lead counsel to the Corporate D&O and Financial Institutions Divisions.
