National Basketball Association Extends Lucrative US TV Deals for Nine Years

National Basketball Association announced nine-year US television contract extensions with Disney's ABC and ESPN and Turner Broadcasting's TNT, deals worth a reported $2.5 billion (EUR 1.9 billion) a year. The new deal, whose value was not announced but reported by the New York Times, starts with the 2016-2017 season and keeps games on the networks through the 2024-2025 campaign and replaces an eight-year contract that expired in 2016.

SIBUR and NBA to Open First Refurbished Basketball Court in Russia

Sibur and The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced that the Olimpiets facility in Perm, Russia will be the first court to be refurbished under a multiyear partnership to grow the game of basketball in Russia by providing safe and accessible basketball facilities. As part of their partnership, the NBA and SIBUR launched a program to regenerate basketball facilities in 10 cities in Russia. Beginning with the opening of the regenerated court in Perm, these improved facilities will increase opportunities for the community, including SIBURs employees and their children, to learn and play the game of basketball.
