Merrill Corporation was selected by Jenner & Block in a highly competitive, open request for proposal (RFP) for the firm's document and mail management services. The RFP criteria mandated the winning vendor to demonstrate combined and proven capabilities in legal process outsourcing, including: Technical expertise and experience in the legal industry; Creating efficiencies and economies of scale while ensuring quality; Implementing strategies to enhance service levels across locations. Merrill will provide Jenner & Block's Chicago and DC offices with traditional office support services focused on a seamless approach to both on-site and off-site service delivery. Merrill's strong references and subject matter experts were key factors in the firm's decision to choose Merrill among seven competitors and to replace the incumbent provider.

Merrill Corporation announced James 'Rusty' Wiley as CEO and a director of the board effective from July 1, 2014. Wiley comes to Merrill from IBM Corporation, Somers, N.Y. which he joined in 1987. He most recently served as general manager, banking & financial services for IBM Corporation. Rusty Wiley succeeds John Castro who, after 30 years as CEO, will retire as the company's chief executive officer and chairman of the board. Castro will continue to serve as a member of the board and act in advisory role for a short period of time to assist in an orderly transition. In addition to the appointment of Rusty Wiley as CEO, the board has also selected James V. Continenza as chairman of the board replacing John Castro. Continenza has been a lead director with Merrill since 2013 and has been critical in guiding and developing the long-term strategy.

Merrill Corp. is moving its New York office to 1325 Avenue of the Americas, in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. The company noted that it is moving its New York sales and administrative staff to nearby 1345 Avenue of the Americas with its shipping and copy center relocating to 246 West 54th Street. The New York office of Cushman & Wakefield served as the real estate broker to Merrill in locating and negotiating the lease for the new facilities and Spector Group New York, served as architect and interior designer.
