Fujitsu Network Communications Inc. announced that DTC Communications, a telephone cooperative serving rural areas of Tennessee has chosen and deployed the new NETSMART(R) 1500 Hosted Element Management System (HEMS) service to manage and monitor their network of approximately 20 network elements. This new service from Fujitsu offers network monitoring for service providers in a hosted environment, providing robust functionality and delivering the benefits of a network Element Management System (EMS) without the need for software, servers or server support staff.

Fujitsu Network Communications Inc. announced the general availability of second-generation 40 Gbps interfaces for its market-leading FLASHWAVE 7500 Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer. Utilizing an innovative Adaptive Differential Phase Shift Keying modulation scheme and Fujitsu patented Variable Dispersion Compensation, the second generation units enable network growth up to 1.6 Tbps of capacity to help customers meet ongoing demands for increased speed and bandwidth. Three new 40 Gbps units are now available for the FLASHWAVE 7500 ROADM, including the 40 Gbps Transponder, 4:1 Muxponder, and 40 Gbps Regenerator. Primarily intended for 40 Gbps core router interconnection services, the 40 Gbps Transponder provides a full-band tunable network interface and an OC-768 client interface. Supporting four 10 Gbps client interfaces, the 4:1 Muxponder provides an efficient method for aggregating 10 Gbps traffic and quadrupling the capacity of existing 10 Gbps-based networks. The 40 Gbps Regenerator provides electrical signal regeneration for long spans, eliminating the cost and complexity involved with the use of back-to-back transponders.

LinkAmerica Corporation will provide warehouse management services (WMS) for the Fujitsu FLASHWAVE(R) 7500 Re-configurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) to select customers in support of their advanced communications networking needs. With the addition of the Fujitsu FLASHWAVE 7500 ROADM to their portfolio, Link America will be able to support the real-time distribution and stocking needs of carriers across North America.
