Transamerica announced more product changes as it continues to enhance its mutual fund and subaccount offerings. The firm is adding its sixth new fund in 2014 and making sub-advisory changes to various mutual funds and variable annuity subaccounts. The newest fund addition is Transamerica Mid Cap Value Opportunities designed to provide investors with long-term capital growth. The fund's sub-adviser, Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley, LLC seeks to invest in mid-cap companies it believes are intrinsically undervalued. The new fund will be available to retail and institutional investors through Class A, C, and I shares. Transamerica Capital Inc. will lead the sales and distribution efforts within the financial institution, wirehouse and independent financial planner channels.

Transamerica announced the appointment of Thomas (Tom) Wald, CFA, as Chief Investment Officer of Transamerica's Individual Savings & Retirement division. As a member of the senior management team, Mr. Wald will have responsibility and oversight for Transamerica's investment and mutual fund product development functions while actively representing the company in investment thought leadership and products to advisors, clients, and the media. He will be based at Transamerica's Denver office. This is a new position for Transamerica's Individual Savings & Retirement division and reinforces Transamerica's commitment to strengthening its leadership and reputation as a Barron's Top 40 Mutual Fund complex. Mr. Wald has more than 25 years of experience in the investment industry and joins Transamerica from Curian Capital LLC, the investment management subsidiary of Jackson National Life, where he has been working as a Client Portfolio Manager. His past positions include serving as a portfolio manager and analyst for a variety of mutual fund and investment companies.

Transamerica has appointed Gregory Tucker as Senior Vice President, Head of Americas Corporate Communications, effective July 1, 2013. Mr. Tucker, who has been responsible for global corporate communications for Aegon N.V. in The Hague, The Netherlands since 2006 will now be responsible for leading the communications of Aegon's country unit which operates under the prominent Transamerica brand. Mr. Tucker will be based in Baltimore, Maryland.
