Tribune Company Appoints Shashi Seth as President of Tribune Digital Ventures

Tribune Company announced the appointment of digital and Internet veteran Shashi Seth as President of Tribune Digital Ventures, a newly-formed unit of the company that will create, design, and develop new digital products and businesses that leverage Tribune's strength in local content and data, and extend the reach of its distribution platform. Tribune Digital Ventures will be located in Silicon Valley and operate as a stand-alone unit of Tribune Company. As president of the unit, Seth will be responsible for setting its vision and strategy, overseeing day-to-day operations and execution, and building a team focused on digital innovation.

Tribune Sale Talks Are Premature

Discussions regarding the sale of Tribune Company are premature, Chief Executive Officer Peter Liguori told employees in a memo this week. Bloomberg reported citing the memo: "From the get-go, such speculation has been and is premature. A sale transaction is only one of our possible strategic options, and there are many others." Charles Koch and David Koch have reported to be eyeing Tribune. Koch Industries, Inc. has stated that reports of its interest in Tribune are speculation.

Tribune Company Appoints Melanie Hughes as Executive Vice President/Human Resources

Tribune Company announced the appointment of Melanie Hughes as Executive Vice President/Human Resources, effective immediately. Hughes will report to Tribune Chief Executive Officer, Peter Liguori, and be responsible for all of the company's human resources functions including recruitment, compensation and benefits, organizational development and employee relations.
