Ropes & Gray on September 15 reported that Patrick S. Sinclair has joined the firm as a partner in the government enforcement group. The firm reported that Sinclair, 38, is a federal prosecutor who played a key role in the Eastern District of New York's high-profile business fraud investigations. Until August Sinclair was the Deputy Chief of the General Crimes Section in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York. He will initially join the firm in New York and relocate to Hong Kong in early 2015.

Ropes & Gray LLP Appoints Phil Sanderson

Ropes & Gray has hired Travers Smith private equity rainmaker Phil Sanderson to bolster its European private equity offering. Sanderson headed up Travers' private equity team until last month, when he stepped down from the role as part of a wider reshuffle of practice heads. He had led the group since 2008, when he took over the position from another Travers' private equity stalwart Charles Barter, who quit to lead the in-house offering for his key client Bridgepoint.
