Theranos, Inc. announced the appointment of William H. Foege, M.D., M.P.H., to its Board of Directors. Dr. Foege, an epidemiologist and former director of the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, has left an indelible mark on the field of global health. Recognized as the health innovator behind the successful campaign to eradicate smallpox in the 1970s, Dr. Foege received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012, the nation's high civilian honor. Theranos, Inc. announced the growth of its creative organization and the appointment of Patrick O'Neill as Chief Creative Officer, a new role. Theranos Appoints William H. Frist, M.D., to Board of Directors

Theranos, Inc. announced the appointment of William H. Frist, M.D., to its Board of Directors. Prior to the Senate, Dr. first spent 20 years in clinical medicine, completing surgical training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Stanford. He founded the Vanderbilt Multi-Organ Transplant Center and has performed over 150 heart and lung transplants. Currently a professor of surgery at both Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Meharry Medical School, he serves on the board of directors for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Kaiser Family Foundation, and Harvard Medical School Board of Fellows, on the Advisory Committees for Global Health at both Duke and Harvard, and as co-chair of the Health Project for the Bipartisan Policy Center. Senator first is one of only two individuals to rank in the top ten of each of the five inaugural Modern Healthcare Magazine annual surveys of the most powerful people in healthcare in the United States.
