Skybox Security Introduces Skybox Vulnerability Center
Mar 13 14
Skybox Security launched the Skybox Vulnerability Center, a free online resource for IT security practitioners that includes access to the Skybox Vulnerability Database. Users can search the Skybox Vulnerability Database by vendor, category, severity, date, CVE number and more, and drill down for special details on specified vulnerabilities. A cornerstone element of the Skybox Vulnerability Center is the Skybox Vulnerability Index, a measurement that indicates the scale and severity of the vulnerability attack surface, or the sum of all cyber attack vectors against a typical enterprise organization. The Skybox Vulnerability Index is calculated daily from a summation of factors assigned to every vulnerability in the Skybox Vulnerability Database, which consolidates vulnerability data for more than 1,000 products used extensively in enterprise network environments. Fluctuation in the Skybox Vulnerability Index provides a signal of the dynamic scope of the IT risk exposure that vulnerabilities pose to an enterprise organization. Many organizations take months to completely scan their infrastructure for vulnerabilities and perform remediation tasks, leaving many vulnerabilities exposed for months at a time. The Skybox Vulnerability Index is calculated over a rolling 90-day view of reported vulnerabilities, corresponding to the risk level of an organization with a vulnerability remediation cycle of 90 days.
Skybox Security Announces the Release of Skybox View Enterprise Suite 7.0
Feb 24 14
Skybox Security announced the achievement of a record milestone for integrations with network devices and security management systems, continuing Skybox Security's lead as the most comprehensive context-aware analytics solution for enterprise IT security. With the release of the Skybox View 7.0 risk analytics platform, Skybox now integrates data from 77 different vendor devices into one accurate model of the network security infrastructure. Skybox Security's comprehensive integration allows security teams to effectively analyze, prioritize and eliminate cyber security risks. The new integrations include IT-GRC solutions, a SCADA network security device, asset management systems and more. Firewall and network device integration enables Skybox Security to build a model of the overall network topology, allowing fast identification of firewall rule and configuration errors and risky network access paths that could be exploited by an attacker. Integration with a wide variety of management systems enables Skybox Security to provide context-aware risk assessments and remediation workflows specific to its customers' environments, using information on asset criticality, policy compliance requirements and business metrics to deliver relevant risk intelligence and actionable mitigation recommendations. Skybox Security enhancements include integration support for these products: RSA Archer GRC: This integration feeds prioritized vulnerability assessments from Skybox Risk Control, and firewall/network policy compliance exceptions from Skybox Firewall Assurance and Skybox Network Assurance directly into the RSA Archer Threat Management Application. This allows users to report on vulnerabilities affecting their business critical assets in one central dashboard. Users can assign ownership to the individual issues, track remediation efforts or accept the associated business risk; Symantec Control Compliance Suite: This integration with Symantec's IT-GRC framework and end-point products enables customers to automate enterprise-wide compliance assessment, with Skybox evaluating the compliance status of all network devices - routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers -- and Symantec assessing the compliance status of all end points. Jointly, Skybox and Symantec send any policy violations with industry and best practice standards such as HIPAA, NIST, PCI-DSS (and more) to the Symantec Control Compliance Suite dashboards and reports to provide an enterprise-wide view of compliance; McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (McAfee ePO): This integration allows Skybox Security solutions to import asset and end-point protection information from McAfee e-Policy Orchestrator, giving greater context about end-point security controls for accurate risk and vulnerability assessment. Skybox Security announces new support for the following devices -- see the complete support devices list on website: McAfee Next Generation Firewall (formerly Stonesoft Stonegate Firewall); Juniper Networks SA Series SSL VPN; RuggedCom RuggedRouter RX series; Citrix NetScaler Application Delivery Controller; Hewlett Packard (HP) Networking (Formerly HP ProCurve) Routers and Switches; LANDesk Asset Lifecycle Manager; Cisco Wireless LAN Controller; Radware AppDirector (formerly known as WSD) Load Balancer; A10 Networks, AX series Load Balancer; and WatchGuard XTM NG Firewall.
