The Namibian Financial Institutions' Union and Nedbank Agree on 8% Salary Increase
Jun 5 13
THE Namibian Financial Institutions' Union (Nafinu) has given the NedBank management two weeks to reconsider banking fees for all its employees. The union and NedBank have, in the meantime, agreed on an 8% salary increase for the bank's employees in the bargaining unit. NedBank employees had demanded a 9% salary increase for workers in the bargaining unit, while management was only willing to offer a 7% increase. The union is still waiting to hear from the management on the workers' demand for a 100% company contribution towards their medical aid. The bank received a request from Nafinu to give employees a flat' banking fee on all banking services. The employees are currently treated like all Nedbank clients in connection with banking fees, depending on the number of transactions.
