The Liverpool Football and Athletic Grounds Limited deny that its owner John W Henry and Fenway Sports Group are considering its sale. The Sun has reported Liverpool is "unofficially" on the market with a price tag of £350 million, but Liverpool and their owners state that is not the case. Anfield said in a statement: "Fenway Sports Group has made its position clear, Liverpool is not for sale. There is no truth in this story. Any suggestion of a sale is fabrication."
John Henry Denies Report Suggesting Sale Of Red Sox

John Henry, owner of Boston Red Sox Baseball Club LP, denied a report stating that he was planning to sell the company. The Fox Business Network reported that John Henry and his partners were looking for potential buyers. The news report stated that Fenway Sports Group did not have the financial resources to operate the Red Sox and New England Sports Network, Inc. and as a result, would sell Red Sox. John Henry said, “A sale of any kind is so far from our thinking it hasn't even come up apart from technical planning issues involving death or disability. This report is completely without foundation.” He addede, “Regarding unnamed sources: Any sale discussions that may have taken place were missing three key people -- Larry, Tom, and me. The Sox and any of the other components of FSG are not for sale and will not be for the foreseeable future.” Tom Werner, Chairman of Red Sox, said, “There's not a scintilla of truth to it. We're not selling the team. I don't know what else I can say.” Several Red Sox executives, including Chief Operating Officer, Sam Kennedy, denied the idea that there have been discussions about a sale. Sam Kennedy stated, “John, Tom, and Larry aren't going anywhere.”

A spokesperson for Red Sox said of the potential sale that “there is no truth to that rumor.” The price of for any potential sale would be $1.3 billion, according to people who have spoke with Red Sox management. Fenway also owns 80% of New England Sports Network, Inc., if it is included in a full auction of the Red Sox, the transaction value could be $1.5 billion to $1.6 billion, said one person intimately involved in financing sports deals. "The Red Sox are one of the premier franchises in all of sports. I don’t think it would be very hard to sell the team. You would have many, many bidders," the source added.
