The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine Announces Executive Changes

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine hired a new president to take on the challenge of finding new sources of financing for the state's stem cell agency and convincing consumers that the science it's supporting continues to be a worthwhile investment. C. Randall Mills comes to the institute from Osiris Therapeutics. Mills has collaborated with the agency for five years as part of its grants review board, which makes recommendations on project funding to the full governing board. He replaces Alan Trounson, who had led the institute since late 2007. Trounson announced in October he planned to leave the agency this year to return to his home in Australia and spend more time with his family.
