Madrona Venture Group announced that Ted Kummert is joining as a Venture Partner. Kummert joins Madrona after over 23 years at Microsoft Corporation, where he has held multiple executive leadership positions, most recently as Corporate Vice President of the Data Platform Group. As Venture Partner, Ted will help identify new investments, provide strategic and operational advice to Madrona portfolio companies, and continue as a thought leader in enterprise technology.

Madrona Venture Group has appointed Erika Shaffer as director of strategic communications. Shaffer has worked in technology for over 20 years and comes to Madrona Venture Group after eight years at the SutherlandGold Group. As SVP at SutherlandGold, she worked with a broad range of companies and entrepreneurs to create and tell stories that resonate with media, influencers and consumers. Prior to SutherlandGold, Shaffer was Director of Communications at RealNetworks where she helped guide communications around corporate shifts in strategy, consumer product launches and major industry initiatives.
