The Salvation Army Announces Management Appointments, Effective November 1, 2013

The Salvation Army USA announced that Commissioners David and Barbara Jeffrey will serve as the new National Commander and National President of Women's Ministries respectively, effective November 1. Commissioners Jeffrey have been appointed by General Andre Cox and will replace Commissioners William and Nancy Roberts upon their appointment by International Headquarters as Chief of the Staff and World Secretary of Women's Ministries respectively, effective October 1. In his new role, Commissioner David Jeffrey will lead a network of 3,600 officers, 64,000 employees and 3.3 million volunteers serving in more than 7,500 Centers of Operation through the United States. In her new role, Commissioner Barbara Jeffrey will lead the national women's ministries to empower women to deeper faith and service to others. She will partner with leaders from the four territories of The Salvation Army to combat common issues that affect women throughout America.

The Salvation Army Announces Executive Appointments

Hillary Dater Betz and Joye Jones have joined The Salvation Army in Boise. Dater Betz works as director of development. She has nonprofit experience in education, animal welfare and human services. Jones works as development manager. In this role, she will coordinate fundraising, cultivate donors and manage volunteers. She most recently managed the Idaho Foodbank's eastern Idaho branch in Pocatello for five years.

Osika Names as Vice Chairperson at Salvation Army Board

Sue Osika was recently elected the vice chairperson of The Salvation Army of Shiawassee County Advisory Board, after serving three years as a board member. Osika is the office manager at Security Credit Union's Owosso branch. As vice chairperson, Osika will be responsible for presiding over all board and executive committee meetings in the absence of the chairperson. She will also serve as a member ex officio of all Salvation Army advisory board committees, with the exception of the nominating committee. Osika will serve a one-year term as vice chairperson.
