News Corp. teams up With Oodle Inc. to launch new classifieds channel MySpace Canada. Powered by Oodle Inc., MySpace Canada Classifieds offers users a safe and social marketplace to buy and sell products and services within their trusted group of friends for free. Through MySpace Canada's social networking framework, users are able to easily share information about what they are looking for with their friends through MySpace bulletins and blogs. Because user profiles are attached to each listing, MySpace users get a better understanding of who they're selling to, trading with or buying from. These features make MySpace Canada Classifieds a safer environment and provide a more efficient way to connect buyers and sellers. ForWant.com announced that it has selected Oodle Inc, to power its classified network. Oodle provides buyers access to more than 40 million listings aggregated from more than 80,000 different sites. The partnership gives ForWant.com a compelling platform for sellers to promote their listings by leveraging the reach of Oodle's extensive network of more than 250 partner sites. Oodle Inc. announced that it has been chosen to power Marketplace, an application for online classifieds on Facebook. Oodle was chosen because of its track record of innovation with online classifieds and will be developing an enhanced version of Marketplace scheduled for release in first quarter of 2009. Facebook first introduced the Marketplace application in early May 2007 as a way for Facebook users to easily create, share and respond to listings across categories such as 'Furniture' and 'Roommates.' To further expand the functionality and breadth of the application, Facebook selected an outside developer with expertise in social networking and online classifieds. Oodle will develop and power Facebook's Marketplace application, which will be integrated into the site similar to other third-party applications.
