Wendel Reportedly May Acquire LTS Lohmann

Wendel Group Inc. is planning to acquire LTS Lohmann Therapie-Systeme AG from Novartis AG (SWX:NOVN), Dietmar Hopp and BWK GmbH Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft. Reportedly, Nordic Capital along with Avista Capital Holdings, L.P. is also in the race to acquire LTS. The transaction is reported to be valued around €1.2 billion. The sources said that Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co. Inc. (TSE:4530) and EQT Partners AB were no longer being considered as suitors by LTS Lohmann's owners, which include drug major Novartis. Morgan Stanley & Co., LLC is acting as financial advisor to LTS Lohmann for the transaction. Wendel of France, Nordic Capital of Sweden, EQT, KKR, Hisamitsu and Blackstone all declined to comment. Officials at LTS Lohmann and Novartis were not immediately available for comment.
