Mr. Tal Piccione, Chairman of the Board, U.S. RE Companies, announced the appointment of Ms. Carolyn Verde to serve as President and CEO of Uni-Ter Underwriting Management Corporation Ms. Verde, most recently Executive Vice President at Hays Companies, joined U.S. RE effective September 14, 2012. According to Mr. Piccione, Ms. Verde brings extraordinary, relevant expertise to her new role in U.S. RE’s overall strategic growth, in the underwriting management of risk takers including risk retention and risk purchasing groups. Before joining U.S. RE, Ms. Verde spent the majority of her career in roles with responsibility for the oversight of national healthcare risk transfer entities serving physicians & surgeons, hospitals, dental, and allied health professions’ liability coverages, as well as general liability, BOP, and workers compensation coverages. She has overseen alternative risk transfer products, programs and product development, with responsibility for underwriting results and profitability of programs where delegated underwriting authority was granted. Prior to Hays Companies, Ms. Verde served as Senior Vice President and Healthcare Business Leader at Marsh & McLennan, was a Director of Sales and Syndication at AON Corporation, and President of Healthcare for Arrowhead General Agency.
